Day 13 - Sunday (26 February) started out with a glitch, about 2:00am my left jaw locked (trismus). Immediately, I conducted research to determine if it could possibly be related to COVID. The answer is yes. One possible cause is that "constant mouth breathing puts a strain on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ)" [newleafrp.com]. I rid myself of this ailment with prayer and a jaw massage. Recommended treatment included: ice to jaw- avoid hard food - DO NOT chew gum - drink water to stay hydrated. This dastardly virus just keeps wreaking havoc on the body from so many angles.
Yet, it was a wonderfully blessed day!! I attended virtual worship at St. John Baptist (Vance). It was Men's Day. The program was inspiring. More details about the worship are on my Facebook page. After worship, I read the Newspaper and had a mini-cinnamon roll with pineapple juice for breakfast. I took the OTC meds and checked my medical stats: Digital Temp 96.4 - Oximeter: Oxygen 96/97 and Pulse 61. Since the Spirometer did not come today and I did not have a balloon, I blew up a vinyl glove to test my lungs. Sleep overcame me and I slept for hours.
LD met with S & PJ at Mending Vessels Ministry to receive the gift-in-kind donation for an adopted family. When he returned we had a late lunch, more leftovers. I am not complaining, they are delicious. More sleep, it was like a baby - eat and sleep. Residual symptoms are: nasal congestion, an occasional sneeze, and a productive wet cough with phlegm. Between long naps, I continued to collect information for the "Fight COVID-19" spreadsheet that I am working on. LD cooked Salmon Croquettes and rice. Friends and family continue to call with encouraging words of comfort. It is hard to believe that March will be here in a couple of days.
