My Breast Cancer Journey

It has been awhile since we communicated. I have been busy on a New Journey created by a health crisis in 2023. I did not share with you initially because I wanted to see how I would fair. God' s grace is sufficient even in the darkest hours. The surgery was a piece of cake compared to the chemotherapy. The chronology of the journey at times will give way to pain, stress, fear, faith and resolutions to my New Normal. More to come....
05 Oct - Finding the alone time to write is a challenge. It seems as if there is always that one more thing to do. Well, I am here now. I will start by giving a heartfelt thanks to you for all the prayers, cards, calls, flowers, well wishes, and the like. I will have to suspend this conversation. I need to go to sleep. Tomorrow I am the liturgist for worship. It is the first Sunday of October, which means that I have to faciilitate The Lord's Supper [Holy Communion]. HB is on a "boy's trip" so it is just me and the fur babies. They have already gone to bed.
It all started with a mammogram at the recomendation of my Primary Care Provider. I had skipped a coulple of years "just because..." Done 23 August 2023. They called me for a follow up ultrasound (7 September 2023). This was usual as I have calcium deposits. [I wonder if that is a result of my addiction to Baskin Robbins chocolate shakes for all those years.] The ultrasound led to my first ever biopsy on 8Sep23. That was a very painful procedure. My Primary Care Provider called me in for a follow up appointment on 19Sep23. I was out of the area earlier. She informed me that I had breast cancer, "the best kind, ER+,PR+, HER2+ [Later learned that they refer to this as Triple Positive] I had no idea that there are so many different types of breast cancer. She referred me to Oncology and Surgery...
