Day 11 - Friday (24 February) has been a quiet, noneventful day. The temperature has dropped from 78 to 46 degrees and it is raining. This is what my family calls "a good book or sleep weather." I did a bit of both. I feel soooo much better. The wet cough and stuffy nose are lingering. Most of the other major symptoms are gone. My primary focus is on protecting my lungs from pneumonia. Drinking plenty of water and other fluids will keep me hydrated and eventually thin out this gross thick white mucus. The medical protocol remains the same. The "Vicks VapoRub" opened my sinuses and bronchial tubes. My oxygen level is 96/97 - pulse 58/61. Temp is 97.1. Hopefully, the spirometer will arrive tomorrow to aid in expanding the air in my lungs. In the mean time, the deep breathing exercises are spot on: Pursed lip breathing and Qigong belly breathing [I had forgotten that we used this when I was taking Tai Chi]. I slept a lot today. LD cooked breakfast: bacon - hashbrowns - scrambled egg and toast. I drank pineapple juice and then make a tumbler of black tea with lemon and honey. Mini - cinnamon buns - pecans and cashews were the snacks of the day. I did not eat lunch. LD prepared chicken and sauteed vegetables over rice for dinner. I may never cook again :)

Phone calls and texts from family and friends kept boredom at bay. Thank you for your positive responses after reading the Blog. I plan to frequently blog on current events after this illness has passed. Outside of sleep, I spent most of the day preparing the PowerPoint on the Book of Psalms for the next Bible Study Series.
