Day 10 (Thursday) - Since I tested positive again yesterday and still have symptoms, I decided to go to the Urgent care appointment that I made yesterday with the Minute Clinic inside the CVS Drugstore. I checked in using the Kisosh, but declined to leave a credit card on file. The receptionist questioned me about my positive COVID test and then denied me service. She said that there was nothing that the Nurse could do for me since I was past the timeframe to receive Paxlovid [normally administered within the first five days]. It did not matter that I still had symptoms (head and chest congestion - fatigue - wet cough - tinge of blood in mucus from nose). Please note that the symptoms are changing. The cough is less frequent and not as severe. The chest pain when coughing is eased with the use of the Rib Wrap. My appetite is waning. I eat for sustenance, no particular craving. LD cooked sausage and biscuits for breakfast. I forgot to drink the pineapple juice before hand, it was too late after eating syrup. That would have been too much sugar on an empty stomach.
After the visit to the Minute Clinic, I returned home and ordered an Incentive Spirometer to strengthen and expand my lungs - clear mucus -and maintain normal oxygen levels. For lunch, I ate a partial can of sardines with crackers and one deviled egg. The fur babies did not appreciate smelling boiled egg and not being included in the meal. LD prepared a delicious dinner: baked pork chops - boiled corn -turnip greens. The snacks today were unhealthy mini cinnamon rolls -bbq chips and healthy pecans - cashews and an orange
My research tonight yielded questionable results on the validity of getting Paxlovid. The implication that it causes COVID Rebound made me feel better about having missed the timeframe to receive it. I read another interesting article about two scientists trying to analyze the sputum (mucus} from COVID patients. I am still following my protocol of Over the Counter (OTC) meds: Vitamin D3 - cod liver oil - Zinc+C - CoQ10 - Vicks Vapor Rub -Hall's cough drops - Sudafed - low fluid intake for the day. I must do better tomorrow.
A quote from the Nexflex series, Fauda, was inspiring: "Defeat is NOT declared when you fall down, it's only declared when you fail to get up." It is way past my bedtime.
